LT. GOVERNOR'S REPORT
LEGISLATURE ADJOURNS
Loren Leman
State of Alaska Lt. Governor
Juneau, AK
May 26, 2005
Yesterday morning the Senate approved the conference committee version of the capital budget (SB 46) and adjourned, ending a 15-day special session that was unusual for the number and scope of issues on its agenda. Also passed were an increase to school funding (HB 1), workers compensation reform (SB 130) and changes to public employees and teachers retirement (SB 141). Back in their home districts now, legislators will individually speak to the accomplishments of this past session. The changes to the retirement systems and workers compensation reform are significant.
