Property rights are in grave danger.

This also threatens opening up ANWR. It basically says that the Senators below are considering trading you and your future for ANWR.

CARA-LWCF got added into the Budget Bill as part of ANWR in a dark of night secret deal. It puts you in the position of having to oppose ANWR.

If you call your Senators, they’ll likely take it out of ANWR.

The ultimate size of this massive blank check for the greens could be billions of dollars.

But here's the twist. The money is only made available - IF - oil and gas drilling in ANWR is approved!

ANWR is the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, and holds billions of barrels of oil. Drilling there can be done safely and without damaging the environment. For example, the National Audubon Society has drilled for oil in refuges it owns for over fifty years in Texas and Michigan.

The American Land Rights Association has long supported drilling in ANWR as a common sense multiple use of our nation's public lands. HOWEVER, it cannot support ANWR if it comes at a cost of handing over billions of dollars per year to finance seizure of private land. Senator Alexander, you really blew it!!!

Liberal Lamar Alexander is using ANWR to attack landowners.

Alexander snuck an amendment into the Budget Committee resolution to put aside $450 million per year for CARA Clones – Land and Water Conservation Fund.

Liberal Republican Lamar Alexander from Tennessee is at it again. He is doing what he did two years ago and that was to add an amendment for a huge slush fund for the greens to the Budget Resolution and ANWR.

Here is the rest of the story -- a YES vote on opening up ANWR for oil and gas exploration ALSO is a vote in support of $450 million per year being handed out for seizure of private property and grant money to the environmental left.

Liberal Republican Lamar Alexander did just what he did two years ago. He attached to the budget resolution being considered by the Senate wording that permits tax revenues from ANWR to be used for land acquisition and grant money to finance his allies in the environmental movement. So the Greens would get their pile of cash -- ONLY if ANWR passes!

This is a last ditch attempt to pander to the Big Green Enviro Machine. Senator "Liberal Lamar" Alexander tried it the old-fashioned way -- pander to the liberals and hope that you can buy them off.

ANWR was defeated two years ago, in some part because of Alexander’s back room dealings. Alexander is trying to Christmas tree ANWR and hurt you. Liberal Lamar is doing it again now.

Sometime Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday the Budget bill will be voted on with ANWR-CARA-LWCF inside. Liberal Lamar Alexander snuck his amendment into the chairman’s mark. That is a placeholder for his CARA Clones - LWCF that he will push later this spring.

This amendment was attached to ANWR.

This will be a vote by the full Senate.

You’ve got your work cut out for you.

Alexander was joined in this effort by Senators John Sununu (R-NH) and Richard Burr (R-NC).

It appears that Senators Ted Stevens (R-AK) and Richard Byrd (D-WV) have signed off on this sneak attack also. If true, it means Stevens is willing to trade you for opening up ANWR. His office needs to get a lot of contacts.

If the CARA Clones -- LWCF – ANWR pass the Senate in the Budget Resolution it will be difficult to stop later on.

Action Items.

1. Call both your Senators at (202) 224-3121 to insist that they vote against this huge addition to the Budget Resolution. Tell them to vote against any LWCF money under the cover of ANWR in the budget resolution. Ask them to offer an amendment stripping out the LWCF funding from ANWR and the Budget Resolution. This could not be more important. If they resist, then tell them to vote against ANWR. They should not be holding ANWR hostage to sneak in CARA-LWCF.

2. Send a fax to your both your Senators asking them to remove the LWCF language from the ANWR -- Budget language. Ask them to offer an amendment stripping the LWCF language out of the ANWR and Budget bills. If not, then ask them to vote against ANWR.

3. Call and fax the members of the US Senate Budget Committee. This is critical.

   If ANWR – LWCF passes as part of ANWR and the Budget Resolution, they are trading you for ANWR.
