WHY: To talk about the ruling by Judge Mark Rindner allowing political parties to join together on a common primary election ballot.

OPEN PRIMARY CHALLENGE VICTORY FOR ALASKAN VOTERS
Judge Mark Rindner has just ruled that political parties have the right to join other political parties on a common ballot for the primary election. The ruling is a victory for the Republican Moderate and Green parties that challenged the closed primary law. This important case takes a step towards a more open primary system that existed before it was closed.
