AIP CONVENTION RESULTS
Mark Chryson
Chairman, Alaskan Independence Party
Mat-Su, AK
May 3, 2003
On March 29, 2003 The Alaskan Independence Party held a special convention in Palmer. The Convention ended with very positive results.
Slight changes in the platform were made. Planks supporting the open primary and supporting majority vote elections were added. The platform may be viewed here.
Slight changes were also made in the bylaws. The new bylaws can be viewed here. The bylaws of the AIP are the only bylaws of any of Alaska's Political Parties to be approved by the US Department of Justice. Alaska is under the supervision of the USDOJ for past government violations of the Voters' Rights Act.
Changes in leadership brought Pat Skuza of Soldotna to the Vice-Chairman South position. Pat may be reached by email and has been doing a good job organizing the Kenai Pennisula. Diana Glotfelty has assumed the position of Party Secretary. Her no non-sense approach is welcome to the party leadership.
A new logo was designed and replace the previous one.
The party will next meet for convention in the Fairbanks area during the spring of 2004.
The AIP also invites everyone to take part in a special offer:
Terrorist Hunting Permits

These can be purchased through their website. As a special promotion to Freedomwriter readers you will get one free when you purchase one. Regular price of $2.00 / each. (one free permit per order)
They also invite you to their new message forum. (you must register to participate in the forum to help contain abuse experienced in the past.)
