Reports will be received until March 21, 2003 and then they will be transmitted to the Public Safety Advisory Commission.

Written statements can be sent to:

Any teen or parent who wishes to file a formal complaint with the Anchorage Police Department is encouraged to do so. This special process does not replace or circumvent citizens' ability to use that process.

APD receives grant for wireless E-911

The city was awarded a $500,000 grant from the Public Safety Foundation of America (PSFA). The grant will go toward implementation of the wireless Emergency-911 system.

Eighty agencies across the United States applied for the PSFA grant last year; 29 were selected to receive awards, with Anchorage being the recipient of the largest award. Overall, the PSFA will distribute over $2.5 million to public safety agencies this year.

Books on Buses

In honor of Dr. Seuss's Birthday, Anchorage People Mover will give each school age child and each child under age 5, who rides the bus on Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2, a book of their own to take home as part of People Mover's Books on Buses Program.

This weekend, all People Mover buses will have a designated kids reading area complete with a book rack and children's books so young bus riders can ride and read their way across Anchorage, every day, every route.

People Mover's Books on Buses Program is made possible by Anchorage People Mover, Volunteers of America and Scholastic Books.
