KEEP BIG BROTHER'S HANDS OFF THE INTERNET
by Senator John Ashcroft
Republican, Missouri
Chairman of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Affairs,
Foreign Commerce and Tourism
USIA Electronic Journal, Vol. 2, No. 4, October 1997
(Submitted by Sartre thru his BATR'S YAHOO GROUP)
[Senator Ashcroft takes issue with administration views on the Internet
and the use of encryption technology.]
(Foreword 1 by Sartre:
When they get the power to make the decisions - look at the way they
talk and the manner in which they act.
This is a very very sad day for our country. Homeland Security Act is
the end of Free Speech, as we knew it. Our task is to maintain the
message, while watching for efforts to pull the plug on the medium.
We will gladly visit anyone who will be singled out for a guest stay
in the coming re-education classes . . .
---SARTRE)
(Foreword 2 by FREEDOM WRITER:
Does Mr. Ashcroft have an "about-face" on this issue, or will he
protect our freedoms while trying to enforce this new law?
Stay tuned for the next exciting chapter in this evolving "tug-of-war".
---FREEDOM WRITER).

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS
From all around America
Summer & Fall, 2002
UnAnsweredQuestions.org is an on-line community of concerned citizens, researchers, independent investigators and journalists asking and
exploring unanswered questions. Our intention is to add energy to those who participate in a spirit of independent, non-partisan and useful
inquiry. We believe that good questions can lead to answers and solutions. We believe in transparency that supports people and
possibilities with uncommon sense.
We are starting with questions about 9-11 the US and international response to 9-11. These questions lead to deeper questions about the
sustainability and integrity of our cultures, our governments and our economy.

Special to Stateline.org
December 11, 2002
ELECTION REFORM: Under the new federal election reform law, voters who
claim to be registered but whose names are not on the rolls must be
allowed to cast a provisional ballot starting in 2004. A handful of
states implemented the new rule in the Nov. 5 election, and generally
found that the system worked well.
