The Fiscal Gap solution article is attached. It is also available, in its entirety, in this weeks addition of the Anchorage Chronicle. It can be found on the web by going to www.freedomwriter.com and clicking on "GUEST FORUM."

The article titled Fiscal Gap Solution, By Ray Metcalfe, is the only proposal yet to be offered, that can mathematically demonstrate that, if adopted, the fiscal gap would close.

Proposals without the math are little more than wishful thinking.

The proposal avoids a new tax on individuals. It avoids raids on the Permanent Fund, slashes in dividends and slashes services. If adopted, it clearly leads to a balanced budget and economic security for Alaska, for many years to come.

It is far more than an argument for higher taxes on oil. The proposed formulas work, with or without, increased oil taxes.
