MAT-SU ZONING VICTORY

Greetings Tonight we had a huge victory!!! Thanks to intense public pressure, (and a little help from Outside), the Mat-Su Borough Assembly voted NOT to introduce the Core Area Zoning ordinance.

However, the battle is not over.

They did introduce and set public hearings for a Conditional Use Permit ordinance. While it is full of excessive restrictions, the planning board members are on record stating generally, that they had NO IDEA what they were doing when they threw it together!!

This CUP ordinance will be a little easier to tear apart, but I don't think the Assembly is going to walk away with empty hands before the October election.
