ANCHORAGE TREECUTTING: A POEM

I think that I shall never vote
for one who makes me get a note
to cut a tree from around my home,
the subject of this very poem.
Do we really need a law
making a "privilege" of using a saw?
The plans, the permit, the proper fee
are all required to cut a tree
growing within your property border.
Are your papers all in order?
