MEET JOHN WAYNE GLOTFELTY
John Wayne Glotfelty
North Pole Alaska
April 2, 2002

Your Servant for Governor of Alaska
John Wayne Glotfelty, SFC US Army Ret., B.S., M.S.
Alaskan Independence Party, Vice Chairman North
I believe that each Alaskan has the God given, inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. You define happiness and you define pursuit thereof. No government or government agency or corporation has the authority to limit your freedom.
The first amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America limits government and all of its agencies. We must begin the long road back to what we have forgotten.
I respectfully submit that to remain on the current course will lead to the complete destruction of the American way of life and render the founding document only a piece of paper that once upon a time meant something. We can turn this train around, but time is short and I fear we will soon reach the point of no return. It is up to us to stand up for our beloved Constitutions, for if we the people fail to do that then most certainly the Constitutions will pass into history as an experiment that was nice but did not work.
What type of government that replaces them concerns me greatly as an American fighting man. My oath is to the Constitution, not to government.
It is with a heavy heart that I have submitted my name for your consideration, but duty, honor and my oath demands that I must take a stand for all those who came before, and those who are here now, and for those yet to come.
We the people must know once and for all if our beloved Constitution is in fact the law of the land, or have we truly lost our way and in turn lost so much more.
On the matter at hand, the State of Alaska, I have in the past worked with budgets in excess of 30 billion dollars.
The personnel assigned numbered more than a million. In this high pressure environment there was zero tolerance for waste, fraud or abuse. Sadly in the government of the State of Alaska there is no accountability whatsoever. Waste, fraud and abuse are the daily menu in Juneau.
None of us want to believe that of our government, but sadly looking at the books, statutes, policies and opinions in place, a reasonable person can draw no other conclusion.
It is imperative that we have full and honest accounting of our resources. Our statutes must protect our resources and people.
No longer can we afford to grant the privilege of doing business in Alaska superior rights to that of the people.
The abuse of granting corporations superior rights will make us less than a third world country.
We the people are the state, if we are not then we are far less than free men and women for in reality we the people will only exist for the needs of the corporation and our individual life styles will become mute as only what the corporations need will be considered.
You will hear from politicians say don't bite the hand that feeds you, even if the other hand is ripping your heart out.
Our renewable resources are being destroyed.
The fisheries are in decline. We the people are pitted and divided in every way you can think of.
Rural vs Urban,
sports fishermen vs small boat fishermen
and hunters vs everyone.
Gone are the individual miners, gone are most of the loggers, homesteading has disappeared, and now our Alaskan owned canneries are going.
Remember that you have the right to choose the life style of your choice under the First Amendment.
One has to ask, what happened.
Special interests have captured our state government lock, stock and barrel.
Time is short.
To fix the above will not be easy, but it can be done.
It will not be done by a politician.
The reason is simple.
To fix what is wrong will carry with it great personal risk for the man or woman who applies the fix.
No politician has the commitment for that battle.
I realize the risks and will fight the fight for you.
When the battle is done you will do one of two things, thank me when we meet or as you pass by my tombstone, thank me for trying.
Please answer the five questions below and then make your decision.
- Will you stand up for our Constitution?
- Will you stand up as a keeper of the Pioneer Creed?
- Will you stand up as a protector of the American Dream?
- Will you stand up as a defender of the Alaskan Dream?
- Will you have the courage to vote?
Respectfully,
John Wayne Glotfelty
