LEGISLATIVE REPORT Summer 2001
by Senator Loren Leman
Anchorage, Alaska
August 29, 2001
I hope you are enjoying your final days of summer. When my two daughters
headed to school last week for their first day,
it almost seemed like summer was over for us!
My recently published annual newsletter highlights our accomplishments
during this past session. If you received my Report
from Juneau electronically during the session, you will find the newsletter
to be similarly informative and a quick read.
Newsletter highlights include:
Improvements to education, including the high school competency exam
and funding for K-12 and the University of Alaska
Incentives to recruit, rehire and retain teachers
Saving the Great Alaska Shootout and Top of the World Classic
Progress with the North Slope gas pipeline
If you would like to read more, just click Summer 2001 newsletter You
can also find this newsletter and other useful legislative information by visiting my web site at akrepublicans.org.
I would be happy to hear from you about this report or other issues
important to you.
