CITIZENS LAUNCH ALL-ALASKA GASLINE PETITION DRIVE!

Scott Heyworth
Anchorage Alaska
Sept. 20, 2001

As we all begin anew in the dawn shining on Alaska, the U.S., and the World, it has become crystal clear that politics as usual has ended. It may have been time for it to go away.

The new political climate for our State begins within each of us individually. No longer do we as individuals, as Alaska State Shareholders, as citizens of the United States of America, have to accept the now ancient political chants of "Big Oil rules".

With a lot of help from many Alaskans, a Citizen's Initiative has been created by Scott Heyworth, a private citizen, an activist, an Alaskan, an American. The "Citizens Initiative for the All-Alaska Gasline" (CIAAG) is bringing the issue of our North Slope gas to the ballot on November 6, 2002.

Please take the time in your life, right now, to read the following certified Petition language:

"This bill would create the Alaska Natural Gas Authority as a public corporation of the state. The Authority would acquire and condition North Slope natural gas, and construct a pipeline to transport the gas. The Authority's powers would include buying property or taking it by eminent domain, and to issue state tax-exempt revenue bonds. The gasline route would be from Prudhoe Bay to tidewater on Prince William Sound and the spur line from Glennallen to the South-central gas distribution grid. The Authority would operate and maintain the gas pipeline, ship the gas, and market the gas."

If you agree in principle that Alaska should maximize jobs, maximize revenues and maximize in-state use of our gas for Alaskans and stop being a third world colony exporting our resources with the smallest benefit of return to Alaskans, then you can help.

Please contact the Petition Initiative Drive at (907) 258-1125. CIAAG needs your registered voter signature. CIAAG needs volunteers to gather signatures in the official state petition booklets. CIAAG must collect 28,700 valid Alaskan Voter signatures by January 14, 2002.

Alaskans all over our great state have been gathering signatures for 10 days now and the response to the Petition Drive is nothing less than phenomenal.

CIAAG needs to raise almost $50,000 for this effort and needs the help of Alaskans who believe in the right to have a say in our States' natural resources. Checks can be mailed to POB 100531, Anchorage, Ak., 99510.

Please, again, think long and hard about the jobs, the revenues to our state treasury and permanent fund, and about in-state-gas use for Alaskans, especially in South-central/Cook Inlet which is running out of natural gas.

The new dawn is upon Alaskans. Are you with us? Alaskans need your help. CIAAG needs your help. After all, it is our gas and our future.

Call 258-1125 now.

Chair
