12
to 10 Vote Affirms National Convention Selection
Columbia,
SC—Convention delegates of the Reform Party of South Carolina
today voted 12 to 10 to affirm the Buchanan-Foster ticket on the
Reform Party line on the South Carolina ballot this November.
“The
vote in South Carolina demonstrates unequivocally that the legitimate
Reform Party candidate is Patrick J. Buchanan,” said Bay Buchanan,
Executive Co-Chair of Buchanan-Foster. “What happened today in
South Carolina is one of a string of decisions that affirms the
authority of the national convention of the Reform Party.”
Twenty-two
delegates from the statewide convention in May reconvened for
today’s vote. Patrick J. Buchanan won a majority of or entire
delegations in over 40 state conventions, including South Carolina,
and won the Reform Party Nomination with over 2/3 of the support
of national convention delegates.
