WE ARE WINNING EVERYWHERE:
A LETTER FROM BAY BUCHANAN
Bay Buchanan & Buchanan Reform Committee
Aug. 30, 2000
You
may have heard about the decision of a Virginia judge not to hear
the Reform Party's case against the Hagelin-Verney faction. His
was a venue decision, meaning nothing except that the issues should
be resolved by the FEC and the states, and does not concern us.
In
the state by state battles we are winning decisively. The Buchanan-
Foster campaign continues to be certified as the Reform Party
ticket in one state after another. We just got news this afternoon
that we are the official Reform Party candidate in South Carolina;
This afternoon we learned we were officially designated in Rhode
Island. Through our lawyers we have have submitted 15 states as
officially Buchanan certified to the FEC. The other side is simply
not able to make comparable submissions.
The
one state (North Carolina) which has taken sworn testimony from
both sides on the merits of the case ruled 3-1 in our favor.
In
light of this, the Reform Party lawsuit in Lynchburg—in which
Judge Moon ruled he had no jurisdiction, does not much concern
us. We have a slam dunk case before the FEC, which reflects the
fact that we won an overwhelming majority of the Reform Party
delegates in 40 state conventions. We have not lost a single state.
And we are on track to have the battle against the rump faction
decided expeditiously and favorably.
Yours,
Bay Buchanan
