Dear
Editor:
According
to a recent poll of 600 likely Alaskan voters conducted by the American
Research Group (pollingreport.com), 17% of the respondents chose Green
Party Presidential candidate Ralph Nader as their next president.
This figure is astounding considering that Nader has been denied access
to the nationally televised debates and is receiving sparse coverage
in Alaska newspapers.
The press
conference to announce the 17% poll was attended by the Alaska Public
Radio Network and Channel 2 News, but not the Anchorage Daily News.
Gore goes on vacation and gets a spotlight. Bush attacks Gore again,
and gets a spotlight. They both get on the front page with Oprah.
Yet the person who has done more than either of them put together
is ignored.
Alaskans
know better however, as this poll demonstrates. They won't waste their
vote on a Democrat who has written off this state as a loss, a Democrat
who turned his back on unions with NAFTA, the WTO and PNTR with China.
They know Ralph Nader is not for sale. They know Ralph Nader has stood
with working people all his life and that's why they're going to vote
for him on Nov. 7th.
Sincerely,
Steve Cleary
