RODHAM'S $434,280 CONTINGENCY
By WorldNetDaily
March 3, 2001
Good
thing Hillary's well-fed Floridian brother, Hugh Rodham, gave back
his $400,000 in fees for winning presidential pardons for a Florida
swindler and a Los Angeles drug kingpin.
Florida
rules prohibit lawyers from taking contingency fees in criminal
cases.
Turns
out the father of convicted coke-dealer Carlos Vignali made one
payment of $4,280 to Rodham on his son's behalf, and a second payment
of $200,000 after Rodham secured his son's pardon, according to
a letter from Rodham's attorney Nancy Luque (who also represents
felonious Clinton fund-raiser Maria Hsia), responding to interrogatories
from House Government Reform Committee Chairman Dan Burton's legal
counsel.
And
convicted swindler Glenn Braswell made one payment of $30,000 and
wire-transferred another $200,000 (minus wire fees) to Rodham after
successfully lobbying his famous brother-in-law to pardon his client,
the letter reveals.
Total
pay-off: $434,280. Not bad for just hanging out a few weeks with
the relatives. Too bad the fee was not only unethical, but illegal.
